Overview

  Airtightness - Achieve part L

One giant leap for airtightness

An airtight seal can be critical to success...
Excel's WARMCEL insulation achieves complete void fill and has the lowest air permeability in the fibre insulation market. That means better airtightness, which leads to better CO₂ ratings to meet new the Part L without the need for expensive offsetting design features.

It also leads to lower long-term fuel expense for building owners.

Save on build, save on bills, and enjoy the benefits of the only insulation with a Better than Zero Carbon rating.

Part L

  Achieve Part L

Meeting Part L Regulations

In 2010, new Part L building regulations will call for greatly reduced C0₂ emissions from new buildings.

A key to achieving these targets is in ensuring a high level of airtightness, so that warm air is not lost from the building (and cold air isn't allowed to enter).

WARMCEL is a natural fibre loose-fill insulation which can be easily installed with complete void fill.

It also boasts the lowest air permeability rating in its market, meaning regulations can be met without the need for expensive high-tech membranes and reduced requirement for other offsetting design features such as solar panels.

Benefits

  Achieve Part L

Benefits

Airtight advantages:

1. WARMCEL's airflow resistance is higher than glass, and it offers easy void-free installation meaning greatly improved airtightness).

2. Using WARMCEL reduces need for expensive (and maintenance-requiring) green technology to meet Part L targets. It makes sense to look to building fabric / passive measures first!

3. WARMCEL requires far expensive membranes than other insulations.

4. WARMCEL benefits from a BBA-inspected installer network.

5. WARMCEL offers the option of off-site fabrication.

6. WARMCEL’s high insulation values mean Part L targets can be met with standard wall thicknesses.

7. WARMCEL has unbeatable environmental credentials.

Value

  Airtightness - Achieve Part L

Value and meeting Part L

Save on build, save on bills

In addition to offering an airtight solution for building regulations, WARMCEL also represents real cost savings.

It reduces or removes the need for
carbon offsetting features to meet Part L, and its carbon sequestering properties (WARMCEL is made from 100% recycled newsprint, locking in carbon) mean it can help meet CfSH targets too. Installation is waste-free, and the product

thickness can determine 'U'-values so your project is guaranteed to meet your desired thermal targets. WARMCEL has a Global Warming Potential (GWP) of -1.9 and is BREEAM-rated 'Better than Zero Carbon’.

Building owners benefit too, from reduced fuel expense for the life of the building. Thermal imaging studies have proven WARMCEL does not slump following installation, and the product is entirely reusable at the end of a building's life.
