Embodying the principles of offsite manufacture, minimal waste, sustainability, high performance and rapid on site construction, TRADIS delivers the inherent benefits of EVT Technology and ultra high insulation performance, and is the winner of five major industry awards.
Rapid Build, Healthy Living
The TRADIS range of factory-produced, pre-insulated structural wall panels, floor cassettes and roof plates is designed for the rapid construction of houses, offices and commercial buildings, while simultaneously offering extremely high levels of insulation and a healthy internal environment.

The superior thermal performance delivered by TRADIS enables heating systems to be downsized and heating costs to be dramatically reduced. Typical family houses based on TRADIS cost a maximum of £1.00 to £2.00 per week to heat and, in many cases, central heating is not required at all. The reduction in heating requirement also reduces the amount of harmful CO2 generated.
Based on Excel’s well-proven EVT Technology, TRADIS also ensures that any water vapour that gets into the structure (water vapour being naturally generated in all buildings) can safely migrate to the outside, where it is harmlessly expelled. This works to prevent interstitial condensation and safeguards the integrity of the structure.
Extra Living Space
When utilised for the complete construction of a building, TRADIS provides a totally insulated building envelope, combining the benefits of rapid erection for the builder with a healthy, energy efficient environment for the inhabitants. In addition, a roof constructed from TRADIS automatically produces a ‘room-in-the-roof’ feature, without further work or adaptation, producing extra useable living space for the same size house footprint.
The main components of TRADIS are BBA-approved and are manufactured from recycled or sustainable materials, satisfying the criteria for sustainable housing. Because of the lightweight components used to produce TRADIS, each unit can be up to 12m long, 3.1m wide and up to 400mm deep. The ability to create large, clear spans offers greater flexibility for internal layouts and reduced foundation costs.
Construction Benefits
Design features of TRADIS also offer on-site construction advantages. For example, wall panels can be supplied with doorframes and fully glazed windows already in place, so that once erected, the building interior is immediately weather protected. And an in-built service zone on the interior side of each panel, facilitates the rapid installation of following services (electrical wiring, gas/water pipes), allowing finishing times to be further reduced without disturbing the integrity of the panel.

EVT structures combine high levels of insulation with the ability to ensure any moisture that gets into the structure (something that happens in any inhabited building) always migrates safely to the external atmosphere where it is harmlessly expelled.
Perfect Balance
EVT Structures utilise components that provide the perfect balance of vapour resistivity and permeability to achieve this effect. This balance is designed around Warmcel 500 Insulation, which has the ability to promote the migration of moisture through the structure.
This unique combination ensures diffusion is maximised, in a controlled way, to make the structure as free to the passage of water vapour as possible, an effect known as Enhanced Vapour Transfer (EVT).
Approved Components
Only approved components will ensure the integrity of an EVT structure is maintained. The following components, selected for use in EVT structures, have been extensively tested to ensure they meet the EVT Standard:

Frame:
Masonite Beams
Insulation:
Warmcel 500
External sheathing:
Panelvent
Internal sheathing:
Paneline or plasterboard with two coats of dry wall sealer

Soundcel Floor System

The Soundcel Floor System is a purpose-designed, acoustically-insulated floor construction offering high levels of sound reduction for both airborne and impact sound transmission.
Developed to offer a proven sound insulation solution for intermediate floors, the Soundcel Floor System features a construction of Masonite Beams, with Soundcel acoustic insulation enclosed by a double layer of plasterboard on the underside and 15mm floor decking on the upper face.
Insulated battens installed on top of the floor decking provide the dual benefits of additional impact sound insulation and the convenience of a built in service zone for carrying cabling, pipework and other services.
A similar service zone is provided on the underside of the floor to carry cables for ceiling-mounted lights, alarm sensors and other electrical devices in the room below.
The floor system is completed with the addition of a 19mm plasterboard ‘plank’, offering additional sound damping, and 18mm tongue and groove chipboard, which provides the ‘walked on’ floor finish.
The entire floor is sealed with perimeter sound insulation to isolate it from the walls of the property.
