Hydraulic Seeding Fibre

Phytofibre is a high performance paper mulch for hydraulic seeding applications. It promotes accelerated growth through a combination of seed protection and improved hydration for nourishment. Manufactured from 100% recycled paper, Phytofibre is safe to handle, environmentally sound and has unlimited shelf life.

Seed Protection and Nourishment
Phytofibre fulfils the dual role of protecting the seed before and during germination and acting as a carrier for water that provides the seed with essential nourishment. The fibres in Phytofibre knit together around the seed, enveloping it completely in a protective mesh. Once sprayed, the seed is protected against wind, rain and extreme temperature fluctuations.

Phytofibre holds up to 1500% its own weight of water, compared to 400% for other brands of mulch. Its water retention capability ensures newly sprayed seed is provided with vital nourishment necessary for successful germination (especially during spells of dry weather) and that a ‘hydraseeded’ area will develop vegetation quickly and uniformly.

When mixed with seed, fertiliser, water and optional tackifier, the Phytofibre mix forms a homogeneous slurry that is easily sprayed in a single application to create a smooth, even covering on any soil type, however steep the slope.

Phytofibre can be used to provide a cover of vegetation quickly and reliably, to control erosion and protect the soil. It will stabilise soil and promote rapid growth, whether used for landscaping or land reclamation.

Environmentally Safe
Manufactured from 100% recycled newspaper, Phytofibre is non-toxic and non-irritant and is completely safe to handle without special protective clothing.

Independently tested, Phytofibre has been proven to be absent from soil contaminants, including copper, nickel and zinc and having a neutral pH balance means it will not inhibit the germination of the seed.

Phytofibre biodegrades naturally, without the need for catalytic additives and, as it decomposes, returns precious nutrients to the soil.
