Excel Invests £3.5m in Plant Relocation
Date: 4 March 2004
Excel Industries, the UK's leading manufacturer of speciality fibres and supplier of sustainable building products to the construction industry, has invested £3.5 million in the relocation of its current manufacturing facility at Ebbw Vale, to bigger and more modern facilities in Rhymney, South Wales.
The move, which includes the relocation of both Excel's manufacturing and office facilities, has created 110,000 sq ft of production capacity, enabling the company to meet an increasing demand for its range of products, both in the UK, and overseas.
Excel Industries recycles waste newspaper material and reprocesses it into fibre products for diverse applications such as roadmaking; grass seeding mulch; insulation; foundry tundish linings; concrete repair; and cement, plastics and paint manufacturing.
Commenting on the move, Nick Thompson, Managing Director at Excel Industries said: "The £3.5 million investment in our new facility at Rhymney will provide Excel with the capacity for continued growth and will allow for the development and further expansion of our range of sustainable building and industrial fibre products."
