Warmcel 100: The Green Choice for DIY
23 August 2006

Excel Building Solutions’ Warmcel 100 DIY loft insulation is an ideal choice for homeowners who are looking to save money on heating bills, while playing their part in protecting the environment.

Warmcel is the green choice. It’s produced entirely from recycled newspapers with low embodied energy requiring far less energy to produce than other mainstream insulation materials. It has no adverse effects on the ozone layer (zero Ozone Depletion Level) and does not contain any added formaldehyde. It is free of CFCs and other toxic substances, and by reducing heating demand, and therefore heating bills, Warmcel also plays a major part in reducing CO2 emissions.

Developed specifically by Excel, one of the UK’s leading supplier’s of innovative building solutions, Warmcel 100 is widely available through distributors and is provided in conveniently sized bags for manual installation. Warmcel 100 is easy to apply, and because of its loose fill nature it fills all voids, getting between and around joists, wiring and pipework for fully airtight protection, which is important to keep the heat in and the cold out. This airtight protection, combined with Warmcel’s very low thermal conductivity, delivers excellent insulation performance.

Plus, when Warmcel is eventually removed from a building, it can be recycled by Excel or disposed of safely, without creating toxic waste or biodegradability issues.

Warmcel is extremely resistant to fire, making it a popular choice within the DIY market. Its high level of flame retardancy is achieved through the addition of simple inorganic salts, enabling it to comfortably meet the fire protection standards set for conventional lofts.
